Alexander Bublik reclaims Montpellier’s title

Date:

The Kazakh Alexander Bublik regained the ATP indoor throne on hard courts Montpellier (France) which he conquered in 2022 by defeating, two years later, the Croatian Coric Borna by 5-7, 6-2 and 6-3.

The acquisition two seasons ago inaugurated the harvest of titles by Bublik, who a season later, in 2023, achieved victories in Antwerp and Halle, the awards adding luster to a career that completes in six other lost finals.

Bublik, who had already lost the Balkans last season, had to return to the grass, in the tournament Halle. It took him two hours and twenty minutes to get his first prize on the current course.

Coric became less. Unable to maintain the advantage he gained in the first set, he was unable to find a way to stop his opponent from reacting. It was the sixth loss of the Croatian player, who remains with three career titles, the last in Cincinnati Masters 1,000 in 2022.
