The man from Malaga Alexander Davidovich (n.24 ATP), fifth seed, overturned the first advantage of his rival, the Frenchman Gregoire Barrere105 in the world, and won 4-6, 6-4 and 6-4 to reach the round of 16 of the ATP indoor hard court in Marseilles (France).
This was the first confrontation between the rivals, which ended in two hours and seven minutes, with a convincing reaction from the man from Malaga, after losing the first set 4-6 due to the lack of precision in his serve.
In the second set, Barrere dropped his serve in the third game of the match, enough for Davidovich to win, 6-4.
In the decider, the fifth favorite on the French hard court continued and did not stop until he closed the score in his favor and thus sealed his ticket for the next round.
Alejandro Davidovich’s rival will be decided this Wednesday in the match between the Finnish Emil Ruusuvuori (n.55) and the French Luca van Assche (68).
