Real Sociedad went into the break with little discomfort. On the one hand, for not entering the defensive framework of a strong Mallorca, on the other hand for leaving having lost the first half match, and thirdly for a possible unsigned penalty with Barrenetxea.
Real asked for it. Zubimendi filtered well, and with his left foot, a line-breaking pass for Barrenetxea who, after good control, was ready to shoot at goal, but was off-balanced by a push from behind by Giovanni. The Mallorca full-back stuck his arm out to walk but it wasn’t enough contact for Muñiz Ruiz, and VAR didn’t intervene as it was a gray action. A whistleable penalty, of course.
There is not much more. The clearest realistic chance came from Sadiq on a lateral cross which he headed high with plenty of power. Mallorca had some dangerous arrivals from the outside that ended in deflected or blocked shots, but overall it was a tough 45 minutes that Real slightly dominated.
