Tiafoe was unforgiving and reached the quarterfinals of the Dallas tournament

Frances Tiafoe advanced to the quarterfinals of the Dallas Open this Thursday with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over 19-year-old compatriot Alex Michelsen.

The tournament’s top seed closed out his first match of the tournament on his first match point, when Michelsen put a forehand into the net for Tiafoe’s fifth break of serve.

Japanese people Yoshihito Nishioka retired before facing Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the quarterfinals without playing a match.

The other round of 16 winner was Australian Jordan Thompsonseventh seed, 6-1, 6-1 against American Denis Kudla, and German Dominic Koepfereighth seed, 6-4, 7-6 (5) against Australian Rinky Hijikata.

Tiafoe will play against American Marcos Girón In the bedrooms.

The top three seeds in the Dallas tournament are Americans. Will compete with No. 2 seed Tommy Paul Koepfer in the quarterfinals, and third-seeded Ben Shelton will face Thompson.
