Sunday with two new world records in New York

The Bahamian sprinter Devynne Charlton achieved this Sunday, with a time of 7.67, the world record for the 60 meter hurdles on an indoor track, in Millrose Games of New Yorka competition corresponding to the gold category of World Athletics.

Charlton, 28, broke the previous world record, held by Susanna Kallur (7″68) since February 10, 2008 in Karlsruhe (Germany), the clock stopped at 7″67, twelve hundredths less than Jamaican Danielle Williams, second with 7″79.

For his part, the Scotsman Josh Kerrwith a time of 8’00” 67, broke the world record for the two-mile indoor track at the Millrose Games in New York, a competition corresponding to the gold category of World Athletics.

Kerr had an impeccable race in which there were two hares, the Egyptian Hazem Miawad and the American AJ Ernst, and in which he was always under control from the start in the leading group.

The British athlete, after the hare march, was left alone with the American Grant Fisher, whom he overtook by changing gear with a lap and a half left to enter the finish line alone, stopping the clock in 8:00.67, which lowered the previous record .indoor world championship, held by the British Mr. Farah with 8’03″40.

The race was so fast that Grant Fisher (8’03″62) broke the national record of the United States, George Beamish (8’05″73) of New Zealand, Morgan McDonald (8’12″01) and Keita Satoh ( 8 ’14″71) of Japan.
