He Provincial Palace of the Provincial Council of Almeria this Thursday held the official presentation of Škoda Titan Desert Almería. A race that is now in its fifth edition and continues to include sports news and participation.
Representatives of all institutions directly involved in the organization of the exam attended the event. They participated in the presentation JAvier Aureliano García Molina, president of the Almería Provincial Council; María del Mar Vázquez, mayor of Almería and Aránzazu Martín, delegate of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Almería, as well as Jesús García, CEO of the Titan World Series, and Manuel Tajada, sports director of the Titan World Series.
Finally, the former professional cyclist, winner of four stages in the Tour de France and current ambassador of the Titan World Series, Luis León Sánchez.
The event served to announce the route of the race: four stages that will be held between October 5 and 8, as well as present the news of the race and its characteristics.
A very special edition
Each day will be marked by a different landscape and challenge: a first stage in Cabo de Gata, a second in tabernas desert, the third where the height of Velefique and the last one where we cross, as before, the base of the Álvarez de Sotomayor Legion.
He spoke about the great mix of landscapes and challenges Javier Aureliano Garcia Molina: “The Škoda Titan Desert Almería allows us to show the many benefits of a province that, even for those of us who know it well, still continues to surprise us. When we see the photos of the race and the spectacular views that the cyclists ride, we are still in awe of the treasures of the province of Almería.”
The Government delegate of Junta of Andalusia, Aránzazu Martín, explained that “the Škoda Titan Desert Almería has left an important economic impact in the province in its different editions.” “And we are clear that the combination of tourism and sport works, and more so in a land with an enviable climate and so many possibilities like Almería,” he added.
The Mayor of Almería, María del Mar Vázquez, assessed that “the Škoda Titan Desert Almería festival proves that the capital is an ideal destination for holding major sporting events due to the climate, landscape, modern hotels, network of sports facilities, gastronomy and culture. But more in all for something that is more important: for the people of Almería”.
