The series of performances by the MotoGP World Championship teams continues, and this Monday it’s KTM’s turn. The Austrian team fielded the RC16 piloted by Brad Binder and Jack Miller for the second consecutive year.
The bike will have the latest in hardware, software and engineering concepts from KTM Motorsports headquarters and the rest of the factory structure.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has completed the first tests of the short preseason and will now head to Qatar and the Lusail International Circuit this week for a final two-day preparation session before the first round.
During this period and throughout 2024, the complete test team consists of Dani Pedrosa, Pol Espargaró, Jonas Folger and Mika Kallio will do its part to improve engine performance.
“It’s incredible to start 2024 for real. This is my tenth season racing for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and it has been an incredible journey. We are always together and we always have the same goal in mind. I think we’ve always been a good fit, and I’m very happy to be where I am. The only thing left is to try to finish the job in MotoGP,” said Brad Binder.
For his part, Jack Miller explained that “2023 is a year of learning and growth for me as a person and as a driver.. In the second half of the season we felt comfortable on the bike and were able to start fighting for the positions we needed.”
“At KTM, and especially in my relationship with the racing department, when they see something or find a way – new ideas, better ideas and techniques – then they go out of their way to bring them to track as soon as possible. Having the power, motivation and support from the company is incredible as a driver.. In 2023 I did not fulfill all my wishes. “I have a whole new wish list for 2024,” he added.
Binder worked his way from 11th to 6th to 4th in nearly half a decade and now he’s set for bigger prizes as one of the highest-rated drivers on the 22-man grid.
Miller also has his own personal goals and wants a top three spot of the championship and more after rapid adaptation to RC16 in early 2023.
