The PGA Spain Golf Tour circuit will begin with three emblematic tournaments

The Association of Golf Professionals of Spain The ninth edition of National Circuit since the association regained the PGA Spain Golf Tour in 2016. One of the goals of the PGAe is to continue supporting women’s golf, therefore, it should be noted that the National Circuit is open to all professional golfers, who will compete under the same conditions as men, obviously in turn from their specific outlets, and opting for the same financial prize.

The year begins with the Association’s oldest championship, the thirty-fifth edition of its traditional Spanish PGA Championshipto argue with Real Club de Campo de Córdoba from March 7 to 9. The Cordoban course, in the heart of the Sierra Morena and a few minutes from the capital, will host a circuit tournament for the first time in its history since the course was inaugurated in 1976. An emblematic tournament with great champions since José María Cañizares won in 1985 the first edition in the RACE in Madrid with the presence of Don Juan de Borbón, Count of Barcelona. Seve Ballesteros would win it in 1987 and 1988; Miguel Ángel Martín in 1986, Pepín Rivero in 1989 and Antonio Garrido in 1999. They are all Ryder Cup players. Ignacio Garrido, player in the 1997 Ryder Cup at Valderrama, holds the record for the highest number of victories with four wins (93 , 96, 97 and 2003).

The XX PGAe Doubles Championship returns in April and will once again be held at Izki Golf, a public square designed by Seve Ballesteros (1994). The current title is currently held by Dani Berná and José Manuel Pardo, who join their names with other great winners such as Miguel Ángel and Andrés Jiménez; Manolo Piñero and Salvador Balbuena, the first winners in 1976.

And from the design of Seve in Álava to the design of the maestro from Pedreña in Bilbao with III Bizkaia PGA Open returning to the also municipal Meaztegi Golf course, located in Ortuella just 2 kilometers from Bilbao. A tournament that, despite its youth, brings together great players like Maestro Txema Olazábal (two Green Jackets in 1994 and 1999), or Adrián Otaegui, a player on the DP World Tour Circuit with new promises in golf such as Asier Aguirre (2022) or Borja Martin (2023) who debuted their respective markers here.
