Tebogo stole the record from Usain Bolt

Letsile Tebogo20 years old, achieved the world record for 300 meters, with a time of 30.69, in Simbine Curro Classic Shoot-Outin Pretoria (South Africa), surpassing the record already Usain Bolt achieved the same distance with 30.97.

Thank youone of the fastest athletes on the international scene, won his career, beat Gardeo Isaacs (31.91) and Bayapo Ndori (31.95).

Because of Tebogo’s time, he directly entered the elite club of the fastest sprinters in history where the Jamaican is Usain Boltwho on May 27, 2010, in Ostrava (Czech Republic), stopped the clock at 30.97, at the height of his reign in the world after the Olympic gold in Beijing 2008 and the ones that will come later in London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 in 100 and 200 meters.

Two other athletes, in addition to Usain Bolt and Letsile Tebogo, can also boast of being under 31 seconds in the 300 meters. They are the Americans Michael Johnson with 30.85, in Pretoria in 2000, and in South Africa Wayde Van Niekerkin Ostrava, with 30.81.

The distance of 300 meters, because it is not in the competitive programs of World Athletics, is not considered a world record, although it is a best world record.

Letsile Tebogoworld runner-up in the 100 meters at Budapest 2023, has the Olympic minimum to compete at Paris 2024 in the distances of 100, 200 and 400 meters.
