Beckett Room’s very harsh response to Espanyol

Date:

The Beckett Room has reacted to hardness in the official statement of spanishpublished on Saturday, in which the blue and white club expressed its “concern” about what it considers “a lack of respect for our club” in a play, ‘Cacophony‘, represented in said room.

The discomfort comes from the fact that, according to the club’s notes, one of the characters is a rapist with whom he is linked as a Spanish player, a fact that “we can’t bear it“. Note underlined “i respect completely on freedom of creation and expression” while highlighting the discomfort caused by this situation.

This Sunday, those responsible for Sala Beckett responded with another statement in which they highlight that the character referred to by the club is “a ‘invented’ player of the Spanish “it appears that” he was accused and acquitted of rape”, which “It doesn’t appear at work” and that his allusion serves “for the characters to discuss, with only two or three responses, whether the fact that he is a Second Division player may or may not have influenced the sentence.”

In the statement, the author of the statement was stated to be Spanish “He didn’t even see the job” and denounced that as a result of its publication “an avalanche of comments and abuse of people who have never found a job, is increasing aggressive and threatening against Sala Beckett and the artists involved in the show”.

The Beckett Chamber accuses the Spaniard of “a complete ignorance of facts and a total ignorance of the meaning of culture in democracy” stating that his statement is “a direct attack, not just a fight free expression but against theater is very dignified and art in general, irresponsibly fuels false controversy and endangering the integrity of particular persons“. And he emphasizes by making sure that this attitude is assumed “Encourage fanaticism lower”.

The note avoids underlining the “purely anecdotal nature of the Spanish reference” because “we are talking about only fiction.” And he ends by remembering that “what is happening and what is being said on stage is not true. This requires little intellectual effort that everyone can do, it’s not difficult”, before adding, as a final point: “Thank you for reading this long statement. Sorry, but this is it we do not give credit“.
