The Ordinary General Assembly of the Association of Spanish Soccer Players of 2022 was held yesterday afternoon, Monday, May 30, with the attendance of over 400 members. “More than 1,000 male and female colleagues joined AFE last year and I thank them for the trust they have placed in the association. The fact that this has happened regularly in recent times speaks of the good health of the union, its strength and credibility ”, he stressed, acknowledging that“ for the board of directors it is a challenge to work every day. for more than 13,000 footballers. It is a challenge that we are proud of because there is nothing more rewarding than helping the soccer players of this country who trust us more ”.

“I do not know those who preceded me, but this is the first time, as president of FIFA, that I have attended an action of the union of football players around the world”, announced Gianni Infantino, excited after receiving the highest difference from AFE, “an honor, a pleasure and a source of pride for me. An exemplary union across the planet. It means a lot to me. That’s why I wholeheartedly accepted David’s invitation.”

Infantino praised the work of AFE and set it as an example

The agenda items submitted for approval are as follows: report and approval report on the activities carried out by the association in 2021; annual accounts for the year 2021, memory and balance; budget for fiscal year 2022; study and approval of economic contributions allocated by AFE to meet requests for Aid for Study Scholarships and Lawyer Expenses for the year 2022; study and approval of AFE economic contributions or sponsorship to sports associations, AFE Soccer Schools, AFE Foundation and other institutions for the year 2022.

David Aganzo announced the creation of the AFE Awards, which will reward the best soccer players in each category, both male and female. From the First Division to each group of the First, Second and Third RFEF, Iberdrola League and Challenge League. The award ceremony for these awards will be held next October and the winners will be chosen by their own classmates.

On the other hand, a worthy award was paid to the soccer players who, due to various circumstances, hung up their boots. The honorees were: Juan Francisco Martínez ‘Nino’ ​​(First Division / Elche CF), Paula Nicart (Iberdrola League / Sevilla FC), Borja Lasso (Second Division / CD Tenerife), Anaïr Lomba (Reto League / RCD Espanyol), Aitor Fernández (1st RFEF / CyD Leonesa), Antonio López (2nd RFEF / Real Murcia) and Paco Aguza (3rd RFEF / Atzeneta UE).
