Changing World Championship schedules to favor Moto3 and Moto2

Date:

Next season there will be a slight change to the new calendar introduced in 2023, as both Moto2 and Moto3 will see their first weekend sessions converted to Free Practice. This means that the times set on Friday morning will not count towards the Q1 and Q2 classification.

The small category will have 35 minutes, followed by 40 minutes for the Moto2 grid, where they can only work to be ready for Sunday’s races without forcing themselves into the first 14. Then it will continue in 2023 with 35- and 40-minute sessions on Friday afternoons, now called Workout 1, and 30-minute sessions for both on Saturday mornings, called Workout 2.
