Thousands of people from Almería took to the city streets on Tuesday to celebrate UD Almería’s LaLiga Santander promotion, that the team of players, coaches and managers travel from this afternoon to various areas of the capital in an open-top bus, amidst a festive atmosphere that lasts till night.
The Andalusian team, after drawing on Sunday in Leganés (2-2), finished as LaLiga SmartBank champions ahead of its two main rivals, Valladolid -also promoted- and Eibar, and seven years after its relegation (2014-15), it achieved the goal of returning to the First Division at the hands of its owner, the minister of Saudi Turki Al – Sheik, and coach Joan Francesc Ferrer ‘Rubi’.
