Ceratizit Challenge of La Vuelta 2022: 5 stages and more difficult route than ever

The CERATIZIT Challenge by La Vuelta 22 will begin Sept. 7 at Cantabria with team time testing. This is the first time the race has been held in Cantabrian territory and it will take place in two full stages and a good part of the third. As happened in 2021, the test will increase to one day of competition to add up to 5 stages.

The official presentation of the route took place on Palace of the Holidays of Cantabria, in Santander, with the extraordinary presence of Pablo Zuloaga, Vice President of the Government of Cantabria, and Javier Guillén, General Director of Unipublic.

5 stages with different profiles

In total, five stages with different profiles. An inaugural team time trial, mid-mountain days, an explosive finale and a chance for sprinters on the previously traditional final circuit of Madridin conjunction with the last episode of La Vuelta 22.

The race will start with a team time trial of about 20 km in the municipality of Cudeyo Navy. A winding route decided by the first bearer of The red.

The second day will continue to run through Cantabrian territory on departure and arrival Colindres. The fourth stage, starting in Palencia, will mark a new milestone in the race by becoming the longest stage in the history of the race. 160 km with a foot injury in the first half and a flat second section of the stage but with an uphill last kilometer. The Aqueduct of Segovia You will witness the passage of cyclists towards the last cobblestone in the historic center.
