The Solheim Cup European captain, Suzann Pettersenassigned this Wednesday Anna Nordqvist, Laura Davies, Caroline Martens and Mel Reid as his four vice-captains before the biennial event in September in the US.
Nordqvist, Davies and Martens retain their vice-captain roles from the 2023 edition, when Europe retained the Solheim Cup at Finca Cortesín (Málaga), while England’s Reid was vice-captain in 2019.
The Solheim Cup will again be held in even years this year, with the 19th edition set for Gainesville, Virginia, from September 13 to 15.
Reid, who has seven Ladies European Tour titles under her belt, has competed four times for Europe in the Solheim Cup since her debut in 2011.
US captain Stacy Lewis last week named Grand Slam champions Morgan Pressel, Angela Stanford, Paula Creamer and Brittany Lincicome as her assistants. The American team is looking for its first title since 2017.
