To order, a Bulgarian delivered women – to brothels! His years of illegal activities were discovered in the Innviertel and the 48-year-old was charged. But because his victims supposedly always knew what they were getting into, the punishment was ‘acceptable’ to him.
The 48-year-old had contacts mainly in the Red Light District in Germany and received his assignments there. In his old home country of Bulgaria he recruited the ladies, also organized the bus trips and brought the aspiring prostitutes to the pimps. He was arrested in the Innviertel after doing business for eight years.
Number of victims unknown
It remained unclear how many women the defendant had brought into the environment over the years; only a “large number” was mentioned when the 48-year-old had to appear in court in Ried for “cross-gender prostitution trafficking”. The penalty for this crime is six months to five years in prison. The defendant immediately accepted the sentence of ten months’ suspended prison sentence and the public prosecutor also waived his right to appeal, so that the sentence is legally binding. The ‘facilitator’ does not have to go to prison.
