Six months before the opening of the Paris Paralympic Games, scheduled for August 28, the top leader of the CPE took the opportunity to relaunch a request to the Higher Sports Council so that the medal awards can be compared to the Olympians.
“Sport achieves great things. The image of an athlete winning a medal for our country achieves many things for our social world. I trust the president of the CSD (José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes) and I know that with him equality will be completely passed to achieve the old desire that other important countries have,” said Carballeda, in the ‘Media Day ‘ held at the Sports of the Superior Council.
“We want the same consideration, something we lack in Spain, and Paris is a wonderful place for the stork to give us the same compensation. and recognition about the Olympic Games. The life of a disabled person is always a bit more expensive and more difficult and equality is another example of inclusion,” he commented.
The supreme leader of the CPE expressed hope to repeat in Paris the 36 medals achieved in Tokyo although “the aim is always to surpass them”.
“Paralympic athletes set an example for society and in the Games we see what disabled people can do. His example will help many families to live with enthusiasm and hope for their relatives,” he concluded.
