De Rossi’s Roma did not miss Mourinho

Date:

The facelift given by Daniele de Rossi to Roma after the sacking of Jose Mourinho is worth studying and the final demonstration was his comfortable victory over Monza (1-4).

The ‘giallorossi’ team had absolutely no problem showing their superiority in attacking football which they are not very used to playing in Portuguese. We also need to see an inspired Dybala make the difference.

It was after a scare with a shot by Juric that hit the woodwork that Roma woke up. La Joya found Cristante to score although offside but the match took place in Monza’s field, which ended in surrender. Pellegrini (38′), who was on the mend at the start, broke the deadlock and Lukaku (44′), assisted by Dybala, doubled the lead before the break and managed to score a third.

It came in the second half and it was, as it could not be otherwise, from the Argentine star. He did this by showing his brutal left foot in a direct free kick that went over the bar (64′). After that, Roma prioritized possession of Monza, but it was completely harmless when it came to closing the gap. Not only that, but more. Huijsen fell on a corner kick by Warren Bondo and after consulting the VAR, declared a penalty, which was converted by Paredes (83′).

As a consolation prize, Carboni made a missile out of nowhere that went into the whole squad (87′) and somewhat made up for the beating Monza suffered at the hands of Roma.
