Tiger Woods will not return to the PGA Tour next week at The Players Championship. This was revealed after announcing the list of 144 participants, in which, since 2019, their name is not present.
Woods made his 2024 debut last month at his hosting event, the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club outside Los Angeles. It was his first official event since he pulled out of the Masters last year and underwent ankle surgery.
But his comeback was cut short on the seventh hole of his second round, as he withdrew due to illness. It was later revealed that Woods was receiving intravenous treatment.
The fifteen-time Major champion said he hopes to play one tour event per month in the future. Woods, 48, may choose to rest now and prepare for the Masters, scheduled for April 11-14.
Woods played in a one-day professional tournament at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida, earlier this week. He teamed up with PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh on a date that typically draws high-profile PGA Tour players.
