Max Verstappen achieved his 100th podium with the victory he achieved in Jeddah in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix race. The Dutchman has won 9 in a row and is one away from tying his own record for most consecutive wins.
Asked about the number of podiums achieved in just 188 races in Formula 1, Verstappen got an answer out of his hat that did not leave anyone indifferent: “88 podiums lost”he commented with a smile.
Max’s podium in numbers
With hundreds of podiums, Verstappen is the seventh driver who has ridden in the box the most. He is three points clear of Kimi Raikkonen and six points clear of Fernando Alonso and Alain Prost, who are tied for fifth in the historical rankings.
In percentage terms, these are impressive numbers. 53% of Max’s Great Circus races were on the podium. The only ones who can boast of something similar are Lewis Hamilton and Prost himself. The seven-time world champion has 197 and 59% while Alain has the same percentage as Max.
