Sevilla FC coach Quique Sánchez Floresadmitted his dissatisfaction with the draw (2-2) this Monday against the bottom team Almeria on the day that closed the 28th round of the League. “Because of how things turned out, we didn’t know enough and we believe that the last five minutes could have been played better, where there were no reasons for the defense to open that game. The result was a game played in the open field, with a team that had many scoring opportunities and where we were not accurate.
“It’s a meeting of different feelings. In the first half, we let 45 minutes slip away. We did not succeed and the rival scored on the counterattack. In the second half we were more dominant, although there were fewer chances. We put the opponent in their field and played closer to their area without running them too much,” analyzed the coach, upset by the 2-2 draw in extra time. “We have to interpret the moments when better. We have already received some goals in the extension of the two halves later, but we have to continue working, even though we have a lot of experience to know how to play those last ones,” he said.
The Madrid coach said that “our idea is to continue improving with each match, taking baby steps forward. There were things we didn’t like about this match, but this Sevilla is already a team that goes all the way to win. There were days when our production was lacking and this time we were not successful in everything we did,” he lamented.
