The Spanish National Team will attend the Paralympic Track World Championship, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro from March 20 to 24, with an expedition consisting of six cyclists, among them Ricardo Ten as the main reference.
The Rio de Janeiro velodrome will be the scene of one of the great events of the annual Paralympic calendar, where in addition to putting the rainbow jersey up for grabs in every event included in the competition program, will be key for the qualification process for the Paris Paralympic Games.
Félix García Casas, national coach, has a team made up of six cyclists: Ricardo Ten (C1), Luis Javier Arcega (C2), Eduardo Santas (C3), Damián Ramos (C4), Alfonso Cabello (C5) and Pablo Jaramillo (C5).
They all come to Rio de Janeiro after competing at a high level in the Spanish Championship and after taking part in two concentrations last month in Anadia, where they carefully prepared the great goal with the RFEC technical team.
The last edition of the Paralympic Track World Championships, which took place in Glasgow along with other disciplines, left a historic performance. Ricardo Ten won two gold medals, in Scratch and Omnium, one silver, in Individual Pursuitand a bronze with his teammates Alfonso Cabello and Pablo Jaramillo in the Team Speed test.
In addition, the Spanish team also won another silver medal thanks to Maurice Eckhard’s performance in Scratch.
