Indautxu is celebrating its anniversary. This historic Bilbao club is celebrating one hundred years of life and as such it deserves to be celebrated as it should be. The board, headed by Jose Hernandezpresented yesterday’s Centennial events with a special memorial for the recently deceased child Alberti bird. Everyone present observed an emotional minute of silence.
On May 1, came one of the highlights, the dispute of a match of ‘old glories’ against Athletic veterans in the Iparralde field and the tribute to the well-known personalities of the Bilbao entity. On June 22, the ‘Indautxu Eguna Centenario’ will take place with a popular meal and on August 31, a quadrangular tournament will be held to commemorate the first hundred years of life.
The City Council will have a special recognition of the entity in principle on September 30, although the date remains to be confirmed, with the official reception for players and coaches at City Hall. The climax is at the end of the year with the presentation of a book written by Andoni Ayarza and the women’s tournament Bone ‘Belauste‘.
Indautxu is a historical figure in Basque football. The Bilbao team came to play in the Second Division in the 50s and 60s and was the team that contributed the most players to the First Division without playing in the top category.
