Lazio were happy with the team’s performance in its first season with Maurizio Sarri on the bench and have now announced the extension of the Italian coach’s contract until 2025.

Sarri, 63, signed last summer for two seasons, until 2023, to fill the vacancy left by Simone Inzaghi on his departure from Inter, so he extended his bond with Lazio by two more after take him to fifth place in Serie A and qualify for the Europa League.

Sarri had three great seasons at Napoli (2015-18), which he ranked among them all in the top three in Serie A. He later marked his time at Chelsea by winning the Europa League (2019), the his first trophy as coach. However, he did not succeed in his attacking football at Juventus and was eliminated after his lone season on the bench (2019-2020) despite winning the ‘scudetto’.
