If last year 2023 the SBK World Championship saw the arrival of the first brand of Chinese origin –Kove, with his 321RR-, 2024 will be the year of QJMotor’s debut. In this case, it is in the intermediate category, the SSP. The motorcycle is the QJMotor SRK 800 RRalthough it is registered as GSR800.
The motorcycle is attached a 778 cc inline tetra-cylinder producing 101 HPa motor inspired by the 650 of the Honda CB and CBR650, but with a longer stroke.
The performance of the base model is far from the competition with the WorldSSP (which delivers between 120 and 150 HP in their standard models, although the power is restricted to match them), so it is possible that the GSR800 is a more powerful version than SRK.
For the rest, it has a double steel beam chassis that uses the engine as part of the structure, a double-arm swingarm and suspensions by Marzocchi, a brand associated with the QJ. Brakes are from Brembo, with radially mounted calipers.
There are two generous front spoilers, reminiscent of those on the Ducati Panigale V4.
As Honda did last year with its CBR600RR, QJMotor will compete this season without scoring, as its motorcycle is not yet approved, but it will no doubt serve as a test of the GSR800 for 2025.
The driver who will join QJ is the veteran Raffaele De Rosa, and if nothing changes we will see both competing this weekend at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.
