Marc Cucurella, Spain left back, described as a “bitter taste” the feeling they had after drawing in the friendly against Brazil (3-3) because they escaped “at the end” after a “great game”, after Lucas Paquetá’s penalty goal in last second of the match.
“No match is friendly, we play to win. It’s part of the game, staying there. They tried to tickle us and in the end we leave with a draw that leaves us with a bittersweet taste,” he commented on Teledeporte.
Marc Cucurella made his second senior team debut, then in 2021 he participated in a friendly against Lithuania where the U-21 team, of which he was a part, played as a senior team after Sergio Busquets tested positive. “Today and throughout the week with the team I will make this my debut. This is what I will remember. A pity it escaped us at last, but we played a great game,” he declared.
Cucurella considered it “too early” to see himself in the Euro Cup and he wanted to highlight being called up, due to the absence of José Luis Gayà, after overcoming an ankle injury. “Very happy. They have not been easy months and a lot of work. I took it as a reward, to be able to enjoy this week. Today I tried to enjoy,” he said.
