Statement from Gruconsa, a construction company linked to Rubiales’ alleged bites

Date:

‘Operation Brody’, in which the Royal Spanish Football Federation is being investigated for contracts in which some have obtained individual financial benefits, is still the order of the day.

After Luis Rubiales broke his silence on Wednesday night in an interview with La Sexta, on Thursday morning the construction company Gruconsa did the same in a statement to deny the connection made with the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The Civil Guard maintains that the previous mandate will give him the works of La Cartuja to get ‘bites’ and it has even been leaked that Rubiales managed to divert 3.8 million euros from the RFEF, with commissions that could reached 530,000 euros, something. 2020 would have started.

In the statement, Gruconsa, beyond trying to preserve its honor and explaining that it is cooperating with the authorities to clarify the investigations by “providing the necessary documentation,” also reveals that it has “opened a complete internal audit to verify the details of the relevant contracts.” along with the Royal Spanish Football Federation and are the subject of an investigation.

According to Gruconsa, the works, mostly in La Cartuja Stadium, which took place between 2019 and 2023, cost 3 million euros without VAT and explains that the person responsible is “AGS since 2019, who is the delegate of the company’s southern zone and, among his tasks, is the portfolio related to the RFEF”.

Regarding José María Alcaide, better known as Nene and a friend of Rubiales, they said that since 2018 “he has provided sales services for the company due to his extensive business experience and has also performed management duties for the works contracted in his collaboration. His charge managing the works for the RFEF amounted to

49,000 euros, excluding VAT. At all times it trusts the entity’s internal management regarding its contracting procedures and the internal audit controls available to it.”

Gruconsa wants to announce that the participation in the Federation has no such relation within the company, because “it represents 2.7% of the company’s total turnover between the years 2019-2023, which exceeds 118 million euros, excluding VAT. These figures show that GRUCONSA’s income statement did not increase in the heat of these contracts, but rather because of the orders it receives from its clients as specialist installers”, in addition to denying that “it participates in companies, builds or carries out works in the Dominican Republic or in any other country”.
