Tiger Woods practices in Augusta a few days before the Masters

All signs point to Tiger Woods playing the Masters for the 26th time in his career, as reported by ESPN this Sunday. Woods, who has won the Masters five times, was spotted practices at Augusta National Golf Club after flying from Florida. He was accompanied by his caddy, Lance Bennett, who worked with Woods at the Genesis Invitational in February.

Woods was also photographed practicing, and the photos were shared by Augusta National Golf Club in a social media post on X. Bennett He has yet to caddy for Woods during the Masters. Joe LaCava used to take care of Woods’ bag, but now LaCava works full time with Patrick Cantlay.

Woods could make history this year as he seeks his 24th straight cut at the Masters. He currently shares the record of 23 consecutive cuts with Gary Player and Fred Couples, a mark he reached in 2023 before retiring before the third round due to plantar fasciitis. Tiger also had to withdraw from the Genesis Invitational due to illness.

Jon Rahm is the defending Masters champion, which Woods last won in 2019. Woods also won in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005.
