This Friday the Formula 1 calendar for the 2025 season was announced. It will continue to consist of 24 races and the changes made are few and purely logistical. One of the most important is the return of the Australian GP as the event’s inaugural Grand Prix.
Since the 2021 season, F1 has started in Bahrain but with a very tight calendaror it coincides with the dates on which Ramadan will be celebrated. This has already led to 2024 the race having to be run on a Saturday. In fact, in the second round of the World Cup in Saudi Arabia the same thing happened again.
For the same reason, the organizers decided not to start the World Cup in the Middle East. They want the race on Sunday and the quote from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia finished fourth and fifth in the seasonrespectively.
In this way, Australia once again hosts the inaugural GP, a privilege it has not had since 2019. The start has been delayed a bit compared to this year and the The first race of the campaign will be held on May 16.
