The King Philip VI of Spain is rejoicing for the fourteenth Roland Garros na Rafael Nadal achieved this Sunday and, at the exit of the track Philippe Chattierasserted that the Spanish tennis player “gave a sign that it could continue.”
Between shouts of “Long live the King” and “Long live Spain” from the public, the monarch added that he hopes the tennis player’s left foot will allow him to continue competing longer.
“Of course you’ll find that you like,” said the Spanish Head of Statewho greeted Nadal on the court after he was authorized to beat the Norwegian in three sets Casper Ruud.
“I have congratulated him, I have told him thank you and how wonderful. Obviously he is seen as saying I had a bad time, this is a great personal triumph,” he observed.
Philip VI defined the tennis player from Manacor as “unbeatable” and, faced with a new question of whether there will be Nadal anytime soon, he insisted that the player himself would say so.
“Spain has thanked him and has had to honor him for many years, throughout history, as they say here, he is the king of Roland Garros and he is the king of tennis.”
The Majorcan tennis player, who just finished 36, won his fourteenth Roland Garros trophy and his twenty-two victories in a Grand Slam, a record in men’s tennis history, leading the 20 majors in Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
