American Sloane Stephens and Polish Magda Linette will meet this Sunday in the final of the WTA 250 tournament in Rouen (France), after eliminating French Caroline García and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, respectively, this Saturday in the semifinals.
Stephens, seeded sixth, qualified for her 11th final and first in more than two years. He beat Garcia 6-3 and 6-2 and this Sunday he is chasing his eighth title in a record that highlights his victory at the 2018 US Open.
His rival for the title in Rouen was Magda Linette, the executioner of Kalinina by 6-1, 4-6 and 6-2 in just two hours.
This is the third WTA final for the Pole, who has no titles on the top circuit. He fell in the final match of the 250 tournaments in Chennai (India) in 2022 and Canton (China) in 2023.
