The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has published stricter regulations for the organization of international matches on its territory, following fan dissatisfaction over the lack of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the recent friendship with the Asian country.
The proposal, published this Tuesday with the aim of ending “disorganized and misleading advertising”, was decided after a series of incidents that left viewers frustrated. New CFA regulations require organizers to publicly report the participation conditions of players used as teasers before putting tickets on sale.
In addition, they prohibit organizers from unauthorized preparation and participation in international matches without the approval of the CFA, authorizing the offenders a ban on the registration of similar events for at least two years. The regulations also establish stricter requirements regarding the presentation of documentation prior to the event. Organizers must now present event plans, FIFA confirmations, agreements with foreign teams and lists of foreign personnel involved 80 and 60 days in advance.
The CFA also prohibits advertising that confirms the celebration of the match before the approval of the international body and requires the organizers to improve the ticket sales conditions. In November, the tour of China by the American team Inter Miami, with the Argentine Messi and the Catalans Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, among other world-renowned players, was canceled just four days before the first against the country.
More recently, in February, the presence of the captain of the Albiceleste, in addition to the Uruguayan Luis Suárez, was announced for another Inter Miami friendly in Hong Kong, but no player ultimately played due to injury, which caused anger of fans.
In January, a match scheduled in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen by Saudi team Al-Nassr, with Cristiano Ronaldo in contention, was also suspended due to an injury to the Portuguese star in the days before the clash.
After the publication of new regulations, users of social networks of the Asian giant, such as the Weibo platform – similar to the world in friendly to the former British colony.
