“It was very hot, it was a very difficult and very long stage. The sand part was very beautiful, but very demanding. Although we had to go down on the sand. Now we divided ourselves into 3 groups.. Four riders at the front and two couples at the back,” explained Héctor Vargas, project director and alma mater of the team. “Now I’m left with Víctor (cyclist with a bone marrow transplant), who has a slower run so as not to explode with the strong wind. At first there were 4 of us in the lead, in a group with other runners who rode too fast for our level. But Carlos dropped out after avoiding falling into the group, rejoining at another intermission,” he added.
