Sainz, optimistic after qualifying at Miami GP: “Not bad”

Date:

The Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)who finished third in qualifying for this Sunday’s race, said “I know I can be in the top three” and explained that although it’s a complicated track, “leaving with clean air is key.”

At the end of the session, Sainz highlighted the difficulty of the urban layout of Miamibecause “every time you finish a lap you think you could run faster” or that “I could do it faster”, but he stressed that this is a circuit where “it’s almost impossible to do a perfect lap because there is always a place where the car slips, it gets hot or the wind blows differently.”

So, he said that after finishing fourth in the sprint race he knew that “the speed was there and with clean ‘quality’ I could be in the top three.”

“We had a clean ‘quali’ and it wasn’t bad because the circuit is very complicated in the wind and on the soft tires,” stressed Sainz, stressing that the route forces you to “a very complicated balance.”
