Zinedine Zidane has ruled himself out as Bayern Munich’s next coach. The Marseille star went to watch the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami and was directly asked if he would sit on the bench at the Allianz Arena. “No,” he answered flatly. “I will go to watch the game, I will cheer for Madrid and I hope Madrid will win. It will be a difficult game,” commented the coach, who has been without a team since leaving Madrid in 2021.
Zinedine Zidane is in the orbit of Bayern Munich, who have tried him as a future replacement for Tuchel. The German coach and the Bavarian club announced in February that they would part ways by mutual agreement at the end of this season and, since then, the sports management has been working on his replacement without success.
So far, all the coaches who have contacted Bayern have given them a hard time. Hansi Flick, Zinedine Zidane, Unai Emery, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick. With Ultimo, currently the Austrian national coach, contacts were very advanced but at the last minute he decided not to accept the offer for personal reasons.
In the case of Zidane, there were contacts between the parties but finally the coach rejected the possibility of managing Bayern to continue waiting for the French team, his great dream.
