The league has reported that the head-mounted device – or ‘RefCam’, as it’s called – will carry Jarred Gillett in Selhurst Park This will be integrated into the referee’s standard communication system.

The technology will be used on a one-time basis, the league said, as part of the filming of a short program promoting referees. Photos will not be broadcast live. “Fans will be able to watch it later in the year as part of a program aimed at providing greater understanding and education on the demands of refereeing in Premier Leaguee”, said the competition.
