Joshua Cheptegei will seek the 5,000 meters world record in Oslo

The Ugandan Joshua Cheptegeiworld record holder 5,000 meters with 12:35.36will seek to beat that record in the trial of Oslo Diamond League (Norway) next May 30as reported by the Bislett Games organization.

Cheptegei will be looking for victory and the record against a strong list of talented athletes on the starting line, among them five with accredited times under 12:43.

The participation of the world number two, the Ethiopian Berihu Aregawi (12:40.45), as well as his compatriots Yomif Kejelcha (12:41.73), Hagos Gebrhiwet (12:41.73) and Telahun Haile Bekele (12:42.70) and the Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo (12:41.73).

Guatemalan Luis Grijalva, with a mark of 12:52.97, will try to lower his personal record, in a race where the Swiss Dominic Lokinyomo Lobalu (12:52.15), the Frenchman Jimmy Gressier (12:56.09 ) and the Swede will be Andreas Almgren (13:01.70).
