During the presentation ceremony, the regional president, Fernando López Miras, stated that “the whole region of Murcia sees itself in the mirror of Pedro Acosta and wants to be like him”, while praising the values ​​and virtues of the Mazarrón pilot, such as his “sportsmanship honesty, work, commitment and talent”.

“Writing a book about an athlete means that an athlete is good, but if a book is written about someone who is 17 years old, it means that he is very good,” emphasized López Miras. In addition, the regional head assured that Acosta is “one of the best ambassadors we can have in the region”, appreciating that the pilot is “a pride for everyone” because “every time he reaches the top, he decides to to share it with this region, and that is very generous».

López Miras also referred to the 40th anniversary of the region’s Statute of Autonomy, which will be celebrated on Thursday, June 9, and emphasized the momentum embodied by figures such as Pedro Acosta. He pointed out that «in those 40 years, the region has not always had the fame it deserved in Spain, and Pedro Acosta symbolizes the change of a generation that, after 40 years of work, quietly wants to take a step forward. This region now wants to play a leading role in Spain,” he concluded.

In its 192 pages, Alguersuari’s book covers Acosta’s origins and career until he became world champion in the Moto3 category in 2021, making him the youngest Spaniard in history to win a motorcycle world championship title.
