Final goal of the season for Athletic

Date:

In other years, we report that the team has neglected itself in recent days, less because they have not achieved anything, and this time they show themselves to be ambitious in green. The brave victory at Getafe consolidates the fifth position and allows us to maintain a small hope of the Champions League, although I do not have the math to reach the fourth place.

Valverde’s men must do their best in the last four games and must beat the Colchoneros by two. I honestly don’t see it, but anything can happen.

Athletic welcome Osasuna this Saturday, travel to Vigo on Wednesday and for the next two weekends wait for Sevilla and get on the plane to Vallecas. It’s not a particularly complicated schedule, but I don’t think at this point anyone can do full points, especially if Celta or Rayo need more.

Simeone’s team will play at home against Celta and Osasuna and travel to Getafe and Donostia to face Real Sociedad. It also doesn’t seem too far-fetched to dream up multiple rival setbacks. For this reason I think the minimum goal at the moment is to score six points to secure fifth place in the championship.

Getting half of the points left in the bet doesn’t seem like a major requirement for a committed team that keeps getting punched. It may need less depending on how Real do, who visit Barca, host Valencia, travel to Villamarín amid continental clash with Betis and finish by hosting Atlético de Madrid.

The central ones

We have lit a candle for Begoña’s Amatxu all season so that there are always two center backs available for Valverde and thus cover the hole the team is dragging in that position. Poor sports planning in that position appeared unscathed by Vivian and Paredes’ luck and resilience.

To host Osasuna this Saturday, Txingurri will have to come up with something after the dismissal of Yeray and Paredes at Getafe. The first thing is to cross our fingers that Vivian recovers and then it’s time to find someone to live with. I still think that in a youth club the normal thing is to put a certain player from the reserve team, recently promoted to the First Federation, who knows the position, even if he lacks flight time. Someday it should be the first.

The derby against rojillos has the morbidity of banks. With the expulsion of Valverde and Arrasate, Jon Aspiazu and Bittor Alkiza will direct their players from the technical area through the telematic intervention of their ‘bosses’ placed in a box at La Catedral. A unique image that has certainly never occurred in the new red and white stadium, perhaps never in history.
