Dani Juncadella climbed the podium in Paul Ricard’s 1,000 kilometers

the Spanish pilot Dani Juncadella has achieved a deserved third position in the second career GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup held on Saturday in Paul Ricard, France. Juncadella ran the fastest lap of the race for 1000 km and the team, at the wheel of the #88 Mercedes AMG, is battling to capture first position on the French circuit.

The group started 6 am of the race to fourth position and came to the front after a two -hour race. Finally, Juncadella, Gounon and Marciello they went to the finish line of 1000 kms of Paul Ricard in the third position.

In this way, P3 is added to the list of winners of the season, where Juncadella has already achieved third position at 6 p.m. Nurburgring 24h. He also stood on the podium at 12 noon from Bathurst for the International GT Challenge, 3 o’clock from Imola for the GT World Challenge Europe and 12 noon from Sebring for the IMSA.

“Overall it was a very good weekend, with a very good level of performance. The team and the car were very good and ultimately, because of a penalty, we couldn’t win, but we were very close to victory”, explains Spanish driver. On his tours set at 24h of the Spa, Juncadella concluded that “finishing the fastest lap of the race is always extra personal motivation” and added that “the weekend results have been very positive and that it has been a very good preparation for the 24 hour Spa ”, held on the last weekend of July in Belgium.

The next stop of Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by the AWS Endurance Cup is on the circuit Spa. The test days for Spanish drivers are on June 21 and 22, while the race will not be held until the last weekend of July.
