Nikola Bartunkovaan 18-year-old Czech tennis player ranked 226th in the women’s singles rankings in April, was temporarily suspended after testing positive for trimetazidineas reported by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).
The positive samples were taken at an ITF W50 held in the Slovak city of Trnava in February and at an ITF W75 held in Maribor (Slovenia) in March.
“Findings of unspecified substances lead to a mandatory temporary suspension; In Bartunkova’s case, it will take effect on April 16, 2024,” the agency said in a statement.
“While temporarily suspended, Bartunkova is prohibited from playing, training or attending any events. of tennis sanctioned or sanctioned by ITIA members or any national association”,
