Rafael Nadalwho this Thursday won the first round of Rome Masters 1,000 in Belgium Zizou Bergs (4-6, 6-3 and 6-4)assured that he was “happy” to play again for three hours and that he did not have any discomfort.
Nadal had to come back against Bergs after losing the first set, but after a tough match he managed to bring it back with a great reaction.
The Manacor native, a 10-time champion, admitted that, despite a good start, he had doubts after his poor play midway through the first match. “The game started well for me, but I played a bad game, with 20 minutes of doubt and no peace of mind,” he said on the center court of the Foro Italico.
But despite everything, he is happy with his form: “I’m happy because I found a way to win after that. And because I played 3 hours again and I feel good.”
