New agreement? – ISW: freeze the front, no guarantee for peace

Date:

The Kremlin has proposed to stop the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the current front line. However, this would not prevent future aggression, said military experts at the US Institute for War Studies (ISW) now.

This is especially the case if such an agreement provides temporary exposure to the preservation of Western military aid for Ukraine. The current front lines do not offer the strategic depth that Ukraine must reliably defend themselves against renewed Russian struggle, wrote the ISW in its assessment of Tuesday (local time). Russian armed forces would face the city of Cherson on the other bank of the Dnipro River. They are approximately 25 kilometers away from the city of Saporischschja and 20 kilometers from the city of Kharkiw, which is located directly on the internationally recognized border.

The Kremlin has submitted a formal claim on four waffles, Federation units. The Russian authorities are already controlling Luhansk almost completely and each about three fifths of the Donetsk, Saporischschja and Cherson regions.

More concessions from the US?
The Russian army could stop tactically and temporarily to enforce Putin’s demands for the areas to combat the United States other concessions, the ISW said. Such concessions can, for example, be inserting a pro -Russian government into Kiev and a drastic reduction in the Ukrainian army to reduce resistance. The Kremlin is likely to use it -the Fires -which is based on a limited American weapon episode on Ukraine to prepare for further fights, it is not very optimistic.

As reported, the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin proposed to take over the parts that are already under the Russian control. To do this, he gives claims to the four occupied regions that still control the Ukrainian authorities.

Trump: Senskyj is expanding the war
US President Donald Trump has already accused Ukrainian President Wolodyymyr Senskyj to expand the war with his attitude. “If he wants Crimea, why don’t they fought eleven years ago when they were transferred to Russia without a shot?” He wrote on his social social platform. Senskyj’s statements are “very harmful to the peace negotiations with Russia.”

The Ukrainian president has categorically excluded the territory of Russia. “There is nothing to talk about. That falls outside our constitution,” he said.
