Rafa Nadal, the new king of Roland Garros, arrived in Barcelona this afternoon, two days after winning his 14th ‘Musketeers’ Cup ’in Paris, to submit his left foot to a check-up before starting this week the new treatment in which the manacorí tennis player will try to extend his career in sports.
“I can’t continue competing with my foot asleep,” the Spaniard said after Roland Garros won again with Müller-Weiss syndrome that plagues his daily life, on and off the court. Manacorí will opt for a radiofrequency injection treatment that uses heat generated by radioelectric waves to target specific nerves and temporarily interfere with the ability to transmit disease signals. All this, with the hope of continuing to play.
“If it works I will continue playing, if not, it will be another story, I will consider if I am willing to have surgery,” said Nadal, who is already in Barcelona to start a key step for his future.
