Two of those attempts aimed to make direct contact with the torchsaid the minister, who indicated that the rest were acts of protest aimed at taking advantage of the passing of the Olympic symbol to gain media coverage.

Darmanin assured that it was about placing banners or flying drones, which resulted in the interception of three and the arrest of four people driving them remotely.

Thanks to the country’s intelligence services, he said, these actions were detected and stopped before they could get close to the torch caravan, which started in Marseille and, since then, traveled to several departments in the southeast of the country.

The minister pointed out that they are continuing the preliminary work of the investigation of all the people who will have duty during the Games and pointed out that the investigations have been carried out on 331,000 of the million they planned.

These allowed 1,193 people who were excluded from these functions because of their background.where they found 30 profiles registered for radicalization, 13 of which were associated with extreme left movements and 5 with extreme right, as many with jihadism and seven for foreign interference.

One hundred people, most of them volunteers, were excluded because of their judicial records, as were 31 of the 11,000 torch relays.
