Alert: there’s a storm in F1 at the Imola GP

Date:

Imola celebrating the return of F1 after a very difficult year for the entire region of Emilia-Romagnaespecially for towns close to historical Enzo and Dino Ferrari Racecourse. There is excitement after the flood disaster that affected thousands of people and dozens of towns last year, and which, of course, forced the cancellation of last year’s race. A year later, on the 30th anniversary of the death of an idol for everyone Ayrton Senna and, the day before, Roland Ratzenbergerthe Italian ‘tifosi’ dream of experiencing a great race again, and possibly, with their soul team, Ferrari, at the forefront in their home event, as it is located a few kilometers from the headquarters of Maranello.

Under normal conditions, though Ferrari It comes with a big package of evolutions where they hope to get closer to Red Bull, those from energy drinks should be the favorites (they will also have improvements to their cars). However, after a year, water can bring hope instead of destruction. At the very least, the hope is that Sunday’s race will be more unpredictable and their red cars (or others) can hope to beat the Red Bulls. Or at least, it can increase the likelihood of things happening beyond double Red Bull.

This is what the weather forecasts indicate. Apart from the rain this Thursday, the training and qualifying days (Friday and Saturday) will be sunny. But things could change dramatically on Sunday, with a storm approaching.

In recent days, the chance of rain increased around 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm, the start time of the race. Imola GPor even during it, adding spice to the matter.

The fact that Friday and Saturday were ridden in dry conditions and that it could rain on Sunday means that the teams cannot test the wet setting, and if it rains, the teams and drivers will go blind.

Also, note that the track is narrow and gravel areas have been added. Any mistake can leave any driver unlucky. And in the rain, the chance of a coup d’état increases with the entry of the ‘Safety Car’.

Storm forecast at Imola on Sunday’s F1 race:

The forecast at this point, on Thursday, before race time on Sunday, increased the chance of rain in some cases to 50%. Additionally, on the Imola GP circuit website, they point to rain and even storms.

For its part, Google’s forecast points to a 45% chance of rain at the start and throughout the race. Meanwhile, the BBC believes that the chance of rain one hour before the race (2:00 pm) is 52% and drops to 25% for the start time of the race and later, something which if true could start the GP with wet track.
