Basque da Gama want to come back Philippe Coutinho. The former FC Barcelona midfielder, now on loan from Aston Villa within Al-Duhail from Qatar, is desperate to return to Brazil and his former club are keen on the idea of bringing him back. Negotiations for the footballer have begun, according to ‘Globoesporte’.
In Thursday’s press conference, President Pedrinho announced that he is participating in negotiations for Philippe Coutinho’s return to Vasco. To be successful in the negotiations, Vasco is counting on the desire of Coutinho, who wants to return to Brazilian football more than he wanted before, a desire shared by his wife. In this way, the club, with a preference for the player, understands that the main task now is to come to an agreement with Aston Villa.
Coutinho is on loan at Al-Duhail until the middle of this year, but he is in contact with the English club until June 2026. Vasco’s intention is to propose a new loan for the footballer at Aston Villa, but there is an obligation to buy at the end of the contract.
In addition to convincing Aston Villa, Vasco will have to resolve other financial issues directly with Coutinho. The midfielder’s salary outside of Brazil, according to the international press, exceeds 3 million reais per month (540,000 euros), a figure that is far from the reality of Vasco.
