He Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) They announced Monday a “multi-year partnership” to “grow professional women’s tennis and inspire more women and girls around the world to take up the sport.”
With this agreement, the WTA “will also improve and develop initiatives to support players at all levels,” they added in a statement. In addition, PIF will be the first sponsor of the circuit classification.
“As part of its commitment to inspiring young people, the PIF will work with the WTA to expand existing initiatives and develop new opportunities for young players, giving a big boost to the next generation of stars of game,” they added.
The new partnership between the WTA and the PIF comes after the recent announcement that the WTA Finals end of time will be held at Riyadh for the next three years, from 2024 to 2026, with the top eight singles players and doubles teams of the season.
The PIF has become the sole global partner of the WTA and ATP circuits. Also, the fund is related to joint tournaments WTA 1,000 and ATP Masters 1,000 in Indian Wells, Miami and Madridin addition to the WTA 1,000 and ATP 500 of Beijing.
