Miss Caffeina, a Spanish group that competed in Benidorm Fest 2024, will be in charge of setting the tone for the Vuelta a España with the theme “When the summer ends”, music that will accompany the round from Lisbon, on August 17, to Madrid, on September 8.
“It’s a great song, it’s the first time I’ve seen a connection between the lyrics of the song and what the Vuelta is about.. It fits the race and what we want to convey,” said Charles Ojalvo, director of Public Relations of the Vuelta in the presentation of the topic, which took place at the headquarters of RTVE.
Miss Caffeina, who in 2019 reached number one with her album in the Spanish charts, showed their joy at being the group chosen to put the rhythm of the Spanish round with “When the summer ends.”
“We are very excited to be the ones chosen to accompany the Vuelta with our music. Tino Casal is the song of the Vuelta, and it makes it something special, it is another step in our career, and it fills us of chaos,” said Alberto Jiménez, singer of the group.
Ojalvo emphasized the fact of maintaining a tradition that dates back to 1977, and that is a sign of the Spanish round, since other grand tours do not have an official tone.
Miss Caffeina competed in Benidorm Fest 2024, the Spanish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, with the song “Bla bla bla”. They placed fourth in their semi-final on January 30, 2024, qualifying for the final.
