SC Dimona and Shimshon Tel Aviv from Israel set a world record by participating in the longest penalty shootout in history with at least 56 shots!
The round in question took place in the semi-final of the playoff for promotion to Israel’s second division, played in the town of Dimona, after extra time ended 2-2.

Dimona won the drawn 50-minute penalty shootout 23-22 after each team took 28.
The previous record of 54 penalties in a shootout was set in March 2022 in England, when Washington beat Bedlington 25-24 during an Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup first-round tie.
Clubs competing in the Second Division of the Northern League, the tenth tier of English football, participate in this competition.
